Does anyone join webrings to help promote their website?

I have been searching the biggest part of the day and seen several that do and some that don't.

Just wondered what everyone's input is on that.

I think link exchange works quite similar to webrings.

But link exchange are more related to the relevant sites, making page ranks higher.

I own over 30 websites, 7 forums, and 12 fanlistings...and I have each and every one of them listed with WebRings' webrings.

I used to list them with NetSurf and BraveNet webrings, but I had so many problems with those to sites and ring managers, abandoning rings, ring banners not working, etc, that I closed out my accounts with all rings from both companies and only use WebRings webrings now.

All together I am a member of over 950 differant WebRings, since I first joined WebRings in September of 2005. I continue to join new rings each week.

After a while I decided to start my own rings, and today I own 48 WebRings webrings, and more to be made soon.

I've had very good luck getting visitors to my sites useing Webrings and I'd recommended them to every webmaster.

I was looking at a site today that we introducing me to Webrings. If you make your own Webring do you host it on your own hosting page? and how does google look at these webpages..are they favorable with google, in other words can you put google ads on there? :)
