Leeds1 and Zeno on www.seo-guy.com forum claimed that google bot doesn't crawl forum signature links unless exact same link has been in text of message.

WOW! I had no idea, I thought that sig links counted in too!

I am not sure that is true. When I search on Google for links to my site, the forum signature links come up for my site.

siggy links do get indexed just like all other links.. whether or not the text of the link is in the message is irrelevant. However the owner of the forum can choose to add no follow tags so that they do not get indexed.

Keeping in mind that the owner still wants the rest of the forum indexed.. that's tricky stuff ;) not just every forum owner can do it, so it isn't common

How long does it take to get your link indexed and how many forums do you have to put your link on to get near the top of the ladder?
