There are alot of advertits asking for freelance writers. I have checked a few of them out - but they all seem to be asking for an upfront payment, or are offering very low rates for the articles.
I am a parttime writer and would like to earn sdteady income doing this.
Any suggestions ?

Try Digital Point and GAF. They all advertise good jobs for writers. Start at a small amount and then increase your rates once you get references

Try to avoid those sites that need you to pay upfront.
It might be suspicious.

Yeah digital point is a good place to start. Also try wicked fire and the warrior forum they have lots of members and traffic so I would imagine that you could do very well there once you get yourself established there.
There are plenty of places to set up a gig like that if that is what you want to do. To find more forums like that just do a google search for them type in "affiliate marketing forum" or "internet marketing forum" and you should get a whole list of forums to try out for doing freelance writing.
Good Luck!:D

I have not yet found any practical paying writing jobs at any of those forums or others. I have had best results with firms that outsource work for bid. Sites like GURU and others that cater for free to both company owners and outsourcing sub contractors. When your paid for your work, a small commission is retained for their services. Google something like outsourcing online work.
Make you own luck,
Karl

You say you are a part-time writer. Have you ever thought of getting into affiliate marketing to make money. I say this because one of the main methods towards earning profits is through article writing on the products you are promoting and if a person is good in this particular method they can make alot of money. I happen to make a living doing it and I had no prior expierence in writing outside of the basic writing courses in college.

If you have talent to write good articles why not write say twenty articles on any one subject and sell it as an ebook.Add few of your affiliates links in each article and you will start earning money quickly.

I would just go on elance.com. I don't know if I agree with the 'just write an ebook' approach. I mean it would be nice but there is definitely more to making monye with an ebook than just writing it. I would say that marketing it would be just as hard if not harder.

You can also build you up a nice online portfolio on sites like HubPages & Squidoo. Use this to show your potential clients. You can also earn passive income at these type of sites too - which is what I do!

odesk.com is another place to find freelance writing jobs. I hired someone from odesk to write some articles for me a while back.
The main thing I would say is to be sure you write your own unique content. Even though you can use information you find by researching, put it in YOUR OWN WORDS.
I sometimes had trouble with someone copying and pasting sections from other sites and trying to pass it off to me as "their own words." That takes me as much time to rewrite it as if I had to go and do the whole project myself.
In such cases, you won't build up a good reputation for yourself. Even if you have to take low 'wages' per article at first, if you do a good job, you'll get a good reputation and can then charge accordingly.
For quick little tasks with immediate pay (although small), you can complete some tasks on Amazon's Mechantical Turk at mturk.com. I'm pretty sure you have to be in the US to use the service, but once you get a rhythm going you can probably make a little cash each day.
Hope that helps.
Blessings,
Angie
