Which do you prefer for a simple personal site - Dreamweaver or Frontpage. I think DW has better options and is easier to use.

I love Dreamweaver and use it for all of my websites. I usually do my own design work. :p

Dreamweaver is definitely the way to go! Not to mention that many host don't offer support for frontpage extensions. I've worked with both, and others as well. You can't beat Dreamweaver when it comes to design!

Hey Jogger!

Dreamweaver is from Micromedia, and they have a free trial that you can download to use and see if it is something that you want to buy.

I suggest that you download the free trial first, as this software is between 300- 400$.

Hope this helps!

I use DW ... it is by far the best web design program.

I LOVE dreamweaver. I use it for my photography website which you can view here:
Naomi Claire Photography (http://www.naomiclaire.com)

I have a question for someone who knows more about it than I do: I would really like a certain song to start playing softly when you open my website...is that possible to do, or would I have to use flash?

http://www.hypergurl.com/music.html is a site that shows you some code you can use to embed it. I would use code that has a console and allows the user to turn it off if they don't want it. I normally don't like music on pages and want to be able to turn it off.

thanks so much!! i will look into that site, it looks like exactly what i was looking for. I have a photography website (http://www.naomiclaire.com) and i find its nice while looking at photos to have background music. but i will definitely put in the option for people to turn it off. thanks for your help!

hi again sbucciarel,
i was wondering if you knew anything more about the embedding music thing. i followed the tutorial you gave me, and its working great, but as soon as you click on another page, the music stops.. do you know if theres anyway of letting the music run continuously?
any help would be much appreciated!
thanks!

It looks like the code is here:
http://forums.seochat.com/html-coding-11/embedding-music-and-have-it-played-continuously-14412.html

Just copy and paste the whole url into a browser.

This is the code. Have never tried it myself.

<embed src="/../../music.mp3" width=1000 height=200 autostart=true loop=true>
<noembed>
<bgsound src="/../../music.mp3" loop=infinite>
</noembed>
