HI Everyone,
I am new to forums in general, but thought this would be a good place to start. My boss is started up in a new "business venture", and claims that it is an
MLM and provides great residual income for ever (OK,yeah, nothing lasts forever).
Now, after listening to all of the hype, I don't really understand the difference between MLM and the
old PYRAMID SCHEMES.
In everyone's opinion, how do you tell if it is a true opportunity and not just you giving your money away?

I had a big answer for you and the stupid system kicked me out to log in (again)
What is the company?
Whether it's a good company doesn't matter. Do you want to be a network marketer and do you know what that means?
Look at my site (doens't matter what company, it applies to all MLMs)

read through the good, bad, tombstone etc.
If you get through that and still want to think about it, contact me through that page and I will give you some other considerations to think about regarding the company and if it's right for you.
Do NOT believe you only need to get three or five
Do NOT believe you should only focus on building the business and not selling the product
You have to have a product you believe in or you won't be able to sell it.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Pyramid schemes are illegal and should be avoided at all costs. They are the ones where there is either no product to sell or a barely usable product that isn't worth the money it's printed on. The whole idea is you recruit more and more people into the scheme and they in turn recruit people in. Problem is that the ones who were into it first make all the money, while the other are left scrabbling around for the scraps.
MLM is only slightly different in that there is usually a solid product that goes with the membership. If the company has been around for a long while, it can be quite hard for a newcomer to attract new sign-ups, so they soon grow despondent and give it up as a bad job. Shame as there are a few half decent ones still around, but be prepared for some hard work!
Hope that helps...
