It seems that [most] everyone in the Internet Business, and even offline businesses, for that matter, highly underestimate the power of databases.
A database can be anything from a handwritten list of people that you have sold something to [or that have expressed interest in learning more about you/your business], all the way up to a professionally created computer database.
Either way, millions of dollars a year in potential sales are lost due to business owner's lack of follow-up with potential or past customers.
The number one reason for this? It is simple. Look at it this way. If you go out and by a car, and the dealership simply sells the car, and makes no more correspondence with you, then they have lost FUTURE revenue. Let me explain why.
If they lose touch with the customer, then if a repair needs to be made on the car, the customer is just as likely to take it elsewhere. Whereas, had the dealer had a database, they could have sent out information to them on specials they were having, etc. They could have sold them something else, because a level of trust would have been there from where the customer bought the car. They would be more inclined to trust the dealer, and in turn, to have their car serviced, or repaired there.
The bottom line is, maintaining a database of ALL perspective/past customers is not only invaluable, but it will also increase your revenue ... with the potential of increases into the millions.
So keep up with your customers!
If you would like to join an opt-in database, with the potential of reaching thousands of prospects, feel free to email me at bruce.w@bruceworksltd.com and I will ad you to the database.
Stay tuned for the next Tip of the Day!
Sincerely,
