I believe for all newby website designers and businesses you can't overlook Google Analytics.
It is a great tool for seeing:
1. What sites your visitors come from.
2. How long they stay on your site.
3. Which pages they look at the most.
4. Great for tracking campaignes.
5. And many many more features.
If your not using it your missing out on valuable marketing information.
