Fear can influence one's behavior; especially when it comes to success in internet marketing. Most of the fear is manifested in the issues of your self-esteem.

A fear of failure can cause one to procrastinate and inaction which equates to how successful one can be professionally and personally.

Fear of failure is the strongest fear that plagues many people. This fear keeps one from improving one's life, accomplishing one's dreams, and rising above mediocrity. It stops one from experimenting, taking risks, making choices, changing for the better, exploring new avenues, and even making new friends.

To combat this fear, one needs to change our self talk and replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. A person can even change the amount of time they are around negative people. Replace them with positive friends and family members. Sometimes, these people just feed one's self doubt and fear.

Instead, focus on success, positive self talk and taking action. Make positive outcomes a goal and try to keep a written record of your accomplishments.

"Positive Self-talk", another way of saying this, "We are what we think". Our thoughts control a lot more of our surroundings than what we think.

This is why it is so important to stay focused on the positive and not allow the negative to influence anything that is going on in our lives.

Failure can be a lesson learn from your mistakes.
Find out what is wrong and correct it, it is the most important thing to do.

I have failed a lot of times, but i know i will success someday. Take the failure as a lesson learn.

Take chances and dare to be different. Too many one track minds out there.

Yes you are correct Cherie. If you don't learn from your mistakes and failures, then you are prone to repeat them This keeps one within a vicious circle that of course leads you nowhere.

Thanks to all of you for sharing. I am new in the internet marketing field, and I can tell you from my point of view, trial and error goes hand in hand for me. If I did not have this, I would not succeed. This has been quite a challenge for me. There is so much information that I want to do it all. But as a beginner, I am stepping back and reading the advice that all of you have shared and have been utilizing it to achieve my goals. I thank you all so much!!

Hello SweetestMiracle, I met you in the workfromhomeboard forum also. Welcome.

Yes, as a beginner the amount of information you will be receiving does seem overwhelming at times.

When I first started, almost a year ago, I selected on method to use in my marketing. That method was posting to forums. I was awful at it. I also got kicked out of a few forums because I did not know that you had to reply.

I am much better now, but I did not move on to incorporating another marketing method until I fully understood forum posting. Then once I had forum posting down, I then added another marketing method until I learned that one too.

I kept doing this until I had about 3 or 4 marketing methods beneath my belt that I was using regularly. I now have quite a few marketing methods I use, but you only really need, at least 3.

I think offline marketing is also equally important. Have a few of these methods working for you too. I put out business card flyers, have car signs, and put out gift baskets with my products in them.

I know it is really going to take me awhile to get this all going. So far I have the forums and my article marketing. The system that I am using is action plans. So I am onto the next plan. It looked to be overwhelming, but In the forum with this system, they are great in helping. I have joined a few forums and am really enjoyng the information that people are sharing. It makes me not feel alone in struggling to comprehend how to make money from home. But I am a go-getter. I really need to keep going due to my health. I return back in 1 month and I know that I will be exhausted by the time I get home. I am hoping with all the information being shared that I will have a few things in place by that time. I look forward to reading more informtion that you continue to share. Take care!

Lawren,

I know you started this thread a year ago, but I still found the post to be helpful :D

I've always been one that kind of held back on somethings, mainly because of the fear of failure and because I felt I did not know what I was doing.

To overcome the latter one, I sought out a mentor with a system already created that i could follow that I hope will teach me what I need to know to get to where I want to go. As for the other, I'm just taking a step out on faith and trusting that things will work out if I keep trying.

Thanks again!

Grady

I too like to read old posts...many times they are still quite relevant. I don't know where you want to go, but I have been becoming more and more successful with an online tutoring business. You can find online tutoring businesses ready to help you get started or start one on your own. Either way the market is ripe. I wish you all the best.

Hey everyone!

I am also new to internet marketing, so far I am loving it.
I am a stay at home mom of one and I love it but I needed to do something for myself. I missed having that accomplished feeling, like I did something productive, something to be proud of.

I have always been a very positive person, I truely believe that positive thinking gets you positive results!

Thank-you for this post...I saw the post date was old but its nice to have other people thinking positive!

Have a great day!

Fear of success is not quite the same as fear of failure. That's a good thing! Fear of success for me is more or less having a fear of where I've never been before. Fear of failure is having a fear of doing something stupid again. I think there is a big difference.

As for my own experience, I finally made up my mind to pay attention to something I love, I know I'm good at, and that is part of a current and growing market. Online tutoring is the path I'm taking. So far, so good. I have found a wealth of information to build a strong business for myself.

Sure, I have a fear, but not of failing, it's more like a healthy fear of where I'm heading.

Hi Everyone,
You know it is funny. I was reading through this post and realized that I created this thread about a year ago today. The month of August is the month I started my online business, so this post was created when I was brand, spankin' new to network marketing. I have learned so much since then and I have grown so much too.

I am now training others and I have many things on the internet with my name attached to them; i.e. articles, forum postings, social networking sites, blogs, etc.

What I have learned is that making mistakes and failing is when we grow the most. I am sure many of us don't like to make mistakes or fail, but if you do, don't be so hard on yourself. You are allowed to be human. As long as you learn from your mistakes and failures, you will make a lot of progress in your business growth.

Keep this in mind as you are busy building your business. The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people fail more.

So, keep failing and keep moving forward and I will see you at the top.

I think that learning from my mistakes was what began my improvement in my serving abilities in my offline job. It was when I began to see what I did wrong and think how I could have done it better that I began to see vast improvements.

So allow yourself to make mistakes, as Lawren says, but I would add that when something isn't working, there is usually a reason. The ones who stay stuck never examine what is going wrong. Those who move forward try to figure out why they failed so they can do better next time. That is how you can learn from your mistakes and get to be better.
