I have never heard of something so dumb. I read today an article about two men trying to cash the check of a dead man.

What happened is that two men wheeled a dead man through the streets in an office chair to a check cashing store and tried to cash his social security check.

The police arrested them for fraud.

Witnesses saw the two pushing the chair with the dead man flopping around.

They left the body outside and went inside the check cashing store to try and cash the check in the amount of $355.00. The store man knew the dead man and asked about his whereabouts. One of the men said that he would go and get him.

A police man, who was having lunch next door, noticed the crowd forming around the body and went over to investigate. It was obvious that the man was dead.

The body was taken to the morgue and the medical examiner determined that the man died from natural causes.

Personally, I don't see how these two men ever thought that they were going to get away with this. Wheeling a dead body down a street on a busy street with it flopping around is a pretty big clue. Do you think?

Yeah, pretty morbid and so stupid. How long does it take for a body to start to smell.

What were these guys thinking? They were only going to get $355.00. That is not a whole lot of money so what were their plans.

I was just astounded. It reminded me of that movie. I forget the name of it, but these two guys were doing something similar. What is the name of that movie? Does anybody know?

$355 is a lot of money for some. Their plan was stupid though. I can think of many different and better ways to cash a check that isn't yours. Not that I have ever done it.

Yeah, it was pretty dumb. I could think of better ways even earning $355.00.

My first thought when I saw this post was the two Weekend at Bernie's movies. Glad I'm not the only one!

And this sounds like an episode from "America's Dumbest Criminals" :D
