If you want to increase your traffic by possibly 20% or better, then include the word "FREE" in your ad copy/signature so your prospect will be more compelled to click on your link. Of couse it helps if you have something to give away. And on the "Informaion Super Highway" good ideas that benefit others is something we all have. Try It!

Hi Syndicated1
Yes adding the word "Free" into any of
your advertising sure will increase your
traffic.
Of course that traffic may not be the
kind your looking for, or that converts
to sales. Here is what I mean.
Anyone that is looking for any this
is free, is searching for just that.
FREE stuff. They are less likely to
buy for signup for anything you have
to offer, because they where looking
for free stuff to begin with.
Sure, your gonna get tons of traffic,
but its not going to be targetted
traffic to your offer.
I know you all hear that in order to
get sales, optins or whatever to your
site, you need traffic, and traffic is
important.
What is most important is targetted
traffic. Traffic that is coming to your
site specifically because they want
what you have to offer.
You don't want garbage traffic that
free offers usually bring. You want
targetted traffic.
And after you get targetted traffic,
you are more likely going to be
able to convert those vistors
into better converting offers,
whatever your offer might be.
I've run the tests, I've seen the
results. I would rather 10 visitors
a day that converts to a sale or
optin, than 10,000 visitors a day
that do nothing but waste my
bandwidth.

Yes. By adding a FREE in the ads, might get alot of traffic. But most of the people want to targeted traffic for their websites.

I agree with wahdalliance, targeted traffic is what you should be after. A lot of people will just click for a freebie rather than having a genuine interest in what you have to offer.

Personally it frustrates me whenever i click on a link that states there is something FREE in it when there isnt or if its completely irrelevant to what it claims to be. I usually just close the window immediately.
Maybe an Internet Code of Conduct should be written up?:D

It is essential you have something free at the destination or you will ruin your credibility.
Free reports are a good way to build a list of email addresses.
