For those of you doing affiliate marketing or trying to find a new niche, here's an excellent tool to help you find products/services to promote.

Go to: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Once the Google page opens, enter your keyword in the box. Then, enter the characters in the picture and click on "Get keyword ideas".

You'll see 3 columns. Click on the "Advertiser Competition" heading so the boxes are full on top, indicating the keywords with more competition. Scroll down until you see half full or empty boxes.

Now look at the last column, "Avg Search Volume". This column indicates the demand for that keyword, which means the keywords entered in the search engine. This are possible markets for your niche.

You want keywords with medium (box half full) or no competition (box empty) and medium or more demand.

Enter different word combinations and you'll find more than one possibility.

Also, under "Choose columns to display", select "Show Search Volume Trends". You'll get the search volume by month. This allows you to analyze the peak and low seasons of your product/service and plan your advertising accordingly.

Good luck!

It is a good keyword research tool.

The results will show you the search volume for the past 1 month and the competitive of the keyword.

I've been using the tool for the last few weeks, and I've learned a lot by using it. Somehow, I missed learning one of the key columns, showing the avg search volume, but now that I see it, I know how to use it to help find keywords. I'm still tweaking my understanding, but I have still found the tool to be very helpful in finding keywords I had not thought of that are usually better than the ones that I did think of.

Thanks you for sharing that information. I am just starting out and writing articles. No one has explained what all that means. I really thank you, now I can use it the right way.
Take care!

Here's another keyword tool I've found more recently that can be a big help in finding good keywords:

http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

It operates a little differently from the Google one. If a term generates keywords with a high number of "searches", just click on that keyword to generate a new list of keywords all based on that keyword(s).

When trying to "target" a good keyword, this can be a good tool!

If you type a website address into the URL keyword section of the Google Keyword tool it will break a site down into keywords for you.
