View Full Version : Ever felt like not making dinner?
Today, I was so busy that I became tired. So, I called my husband and told him I did not feel like cooking tonight and wanted him to use his card to purchase take out. He said okay I'll order Dominos Pizza. I told him the kids and I (alright really I) didn't want pizza so he said he didn't want to use his card at any other take out place. I just had a taste for this grilled chicken sandwich.
So I told him to just forget it and I ended up cooking.
I should have just ordered the pizza, right:o

There are plenty of nights i don't want to cook... I will either get take-out or run to the store and get a fast oven pizza or somehing already made....

I often don't want to cook dinner! It's not that I don't like to cook, it's that on those nights I have worked hard and I am tired or want to continue working on something, and to stop and have to cook a meal would mean I would mean I wouldn't be able to finish what I am doing.
Sometimes I can catch my husband before he leaves work to come home - and I might ask him to bring Chinese take out or a roasted chicken and salads from the deli counter at the grocery store.
Lately I have been trying to cook more, because it not only saves money but it is healthier than a lot of takeout food. I am fortunate though, because my husband is usually very supportive and will do whatever I ask him. :D

How about eating out just because you don't want to do the dishes :D
I like to cook most of the time, but a lot of times, I'll look in the fridge and think "There's nothing to fix!"
But, there are times when I just feel "lazy" and will get take out or get in the car and go somewhere.
If you wanted the chicken sandwich, maybe instead of cooking, you could have suggested a place that had the chicken sandwich as an alternative. Like Chick-Fil-A or something like that.

I really despise cooking, even though my family enjoys the homecooked meals. I am just exhausted when I get home from a fulls day work. The good thing is, my kids can make spagetti, baked chicken, and teriyaki rice bowls. YAHOOOOO. Have to love those kiddos! Now I just need to teach them more dishes.........LOL

I'm on a gluten free diet. So i mostly eat at home since most restaurants dont have gluten free dishes. I'm always puttin something in the microwave.

I do a lot of crock potting. I know that I am going to be tired by the time I get home and then have to start my second shift with getting the family situated, so I normally have dinner done. Does anyone have any good crock pot recipes that they are willing to share? It sure makes my life easier and gives me more time with the kiddos!!
