Choosing a proper domain name is a vital step that should be given serious consideration in your business plan.A short, descriptive and catchy domain name may just be money in the bank.

## 1. MAKE IT EASY FOR CUSTOMERS

# Can they say it?

# Can they spell it?

# Can they remember it?

# Shorter is better.

# Try to use extension names with .com,.org or .net

## 2. DOMAIN NAME MUST BE RELATED WITH SITE

The Domain Name of Your Site must be related with the type of your site.Such as People may get the idea of your site from the Domain Name.

## 3. MAKE SURE YOU OWN IT.

If your web designer registered your domain name on your behalf, get this resolved right away. Make sure:

# you own your own domain name

# your contact information is correct and current

# Make sure your domain is registered for at least 5 years.

# you have the current login and password to your domain name registry.

## 4. GET IT CHEAP.

# Never invest too much for the domain name.

I would like to add that if one plans on promoting their site/landing page on adwords - ensure that you do not buy a domain name that exceeds the characters allowed in the adword url. This is the maximum for a url that Google adwords accepts = 12345677777777777777.com (example only...not a valid url)

I have something to add as well,
It doesn't hurt to gather a bunch of words your considering and running them through a keyword tool. The popularity and competition of certain words should also be considered.

ie makemoneyonline, would not be a good choice, sure it gets 100 million searches, but there is also 100 billion search results.

Just For The Record....
ANY Marketing you do on the web, should ALWAYS start with keyword research.
