Remember to set a new realistic attainable goal before you reach your final goal. Half the fun of obtaining a goal is the journey there and the other half is continuing on to the next one.
You can if you think you can. Make it happen.

It can even be helpful to set daily or weekly goals. In my offline J.O.B., we set daily goals that we want to try to achieve.

I'm a server, so these daily goals revolve around sales stats. Both yesterday and today, I set what I thought were high goals. They were goals I knew were achievable, because I had reached or at least come close to reaching them in the past.

Now, I set my goal higher than I normally would on other days because I knew that yesterday and today I could sell more than usual. In fact, I could have set them higher. Where I set the goals, it would be difficult to reach, but not impossible.

Both days, I surpassed my goals. Yesterday, I "blew" my goals out of the water for each category I set. Today, I made just over what I set as my goals.

But if I had not set those goals so high, if I had just thrown in standard low numbers or the "averages' the store wanted to make, I might not have sold as much as I did.

My point is that setting goals for smaller time frames can be beneficial. Say you wanted to earn $1000 this week. What goals could you set? What things could you do to reach these goals? Maybe today you have more time than you normally do, so you might set a goal to write 3 articles instead of the one you normally write.

Whatever it is for you, setting goals can help give you something to focus on to see progress while you are working towards a larger goal.

if you think your goal is too high, then set it as a long term goal.
It is good to have a long term goal.

In the meanwhile, set achievable goals within months.

Yes I agree - if you are too tough on yourself you are setting yourself up to fail!

the key to success is -

make realistic goals.
achieve those realistic goals.
improve goals
repeat process

YOU have to change YOURSELF
You are the ONLY One Who Really Cares about Your Success
No one cares like you do, except perhaps your mom or one of your true friends, and she
wants you to be a good person, and good persons are rarely successful. If you really want
success, you must first take full responsibility for your results. No one else is ever going to
give you success in life.
In fact, most others want to see you fail. Subconsciously, even most people are pleased
by your failures. You are the only one who cares about what happens in your life and
enjoys the fruits of the labor whether good or bad.
Take personal responsibility! Accept that you’re the only one to make success
happen, that you’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals, and don’t accept from
yourself any excuses for failure.
One of the most common problems is that of trying to Change Reality Instead
of Changing to Suit Reality
If you’re not getting what you want, don’t be so arrogant that you hold onto your beliefs
and methods just because you think they’re right. Learn to ADAPT to the situation.
Dinosaurs did not adapted they died, Man adapted they rule the world now. It is your choice
what do you want to be, the dinosaur who dies because he held onto belief that everything is
going to be the same or the Man who did not took no for an answer and changed the world to
suit him. It’s much better to open your mind and accept the reality as it is than to insist on
sticking with how you thought or hoped it was.
It’s said, “Be the water, not the rock.” When water hits an obstacle, it flows around it.
When a rock hits a barrier, it either breaks or stops, but never gets past. Only by discovering
how life actually does work can you figure a way to adapt. You sometimes need to change
in order to reach your goals.
Guide the change in your life.
Now maybe you understand why do you want to change, let’s see the process.
Define what you want.
You’ve got to have a clear idea of what you want. A concrete goal allows you to
spend more energy working in the right direction.
Take some time to actually think about this, Take a pen and actually write it on
paper about what you want and why. This clears all the illusionist thoughts from the mind
and clears the head. Don’t’ write subjective things like I want to be rich, because that is not
clear what being rich is, write I want 1 million in my savings bank account and earning of a
hundred thousand a year. That’s achievable. Do it and force all your energy in doing that.
You’ll achieve it in less time than you can imagine.
There are many things we desire to avoid, such as poverty, pain, misfortune, and illhealth;
while there are things we much desire to have, such as wealth, power, knowledge,
and independence. It is, however, the intensity of our desire that counts for most. "I desire
to become a good musician," says one. "How strong is your desire?" asks the teacher.
"Will you practice regularly every day for an hour?!" "I don't think I can," says the
student, "because my time is so much occupied during the day, and at night I am too
tired." "What personal sacrifices are you ready to make?" "None," is the answer. "Then,"
replies the teacher, "your desire is not strong enough to make you a good musician."
Always GROW.
Once you reach your goal, don’t’ stop, improve the goal, if you are earning a hundred
thousand a year, there is no such thing that says you can’t earn a hundred and twenty
thousand a year. always grow, there is an old saying that says if you are not growing you
are dying, because world is never the same, don’t’ take the old line “ try your best” it’s for
losers , the ones trying their best are the ones who are a failure to life, instead start saying
ok, now I want to do this, how can I make this happen. Don’t take an excuse for failure.
There was a movie I saw, in which a pirate takes over a ship and shifts the goods onto his
own ship, he puts a bomb on that and throws the key to stop the bomb away to make sure
there is no delay. Constantly keep working towards your goal, and eventually a time will
come when you improve yourself to a level that there is no luck involved, you are so good
that luck almost will seem to be coming to you,
Consistent effort creates “luck”, as in “let’s go get lucky” BY CHOICE.
The world generally accepts a man at his own valuation. If you give an impression that you
are afraid, you will beside-elbowed and imposed upon at almost every turn. Let me illustrate:
The other day I saw a dog leisurely pass a cat on the street, and to all appearance there was no
ill feeling on either side. The cat looked him straight in the eye as he approached, and the dog
returned her confident glance and quietly passed on. Then the cat, seeing a good chance for
escape, bolted across the street, but the instant the dog saw her running he turned and
followed in hot haste. It was cat and dog for some yards, when suddenly the cat stopped,
humped her back and looked defiantly at her adversary. He stopped, caught his breath,
blinked uncertainly, turned up his nose, and walked off. As long as the cat showed fear and
ran, the dog chased her; but the moment she took her stand, he respected her. When a man
stands up boldly and sell-confidently for his rights, fear slinks tremblingly into the shadows.
Know what is stopping you.
Preventing Ourselves from Success
All change means is trying something you haven’t done
Have you ever been in a situation where you saw a super rich job giver that you
wanted to meet, but you didn't go over and talk to him? Of course... we all have. I've
realized that this happens to us all at different times. The question I want to answer is
"why?"
Why is it that we don't just walk over and start talking? What do we do to prevent
ourselves from being successful? More importantly, how do we overcome this self-defeating
pattern of thought and action?
The short answer is that most of us use our imaginations to create horrible ideas that
prevent us from taking action. We need to start imagining good things happening, so we'll
want to take action.
As you may already know, a bad habit isn't always easy to change. If you've been
imagining the worst for a while, then it might take more than just some positive thinking to
get this handled.
In the fascinating book, "Mean Genes," a couple of evolution specialists point out
that humans are horrible at assessing risk and return, and that they often make horrible
decisions for themselves. But here is the surprise, we all make the same mistakes most
of the time, and this is most likely a GENETIC programming!
Who hesitates in taking a decision has lost the game even before he began.
You might want to talk to that person, but then imagine some painfully scary but
unrealistic ideas about getting rejected and walk away instead. After these poor decisions
we often say to ourselves, "Damn it! Why do I keep doing that? I'm such a loser", and we
beat ourselves up even more over it. This way of thinking can turn into an endless cycle of
decline.
What's the answer? Well, first you have to learn to get out of the habit of making
yourself feel bad and afraid, and into the habit of making yourself feel good and optimistic.
Remember, you've been doing some things for a long time now, so it might take some time
and effort to change your thinking.
Everything has a reason, even negative states of the mind, but by understanding the
reasons and seeing how they can be INVALID REASONS, we can overcome them.

well if you can't work after this.

i doubt you are going to work anytime in this life..
