I have to say that this phrase really bugs me!

When I told my boss I was pregnant (3 years back now) He gave me the weirdest look and said ok. Two months later he pulled me into his office and said "Look this isn't personal it's business, I'm going to have to let you go."

I was flabbergasted! I know there are cases where it is business and not personal, but this was so personal.

I was his main waitress and main bar tender for weekends and once I told him I was pregnant( I was three months by then) he made me work more hours and got mad if I had to go to doctors appoinment.

Have you ever had someone say "it's not personal it's business" or have you ever used it?

Just curious, I know that sometimes it is necessary and it is just business.

Whats your take on it?

I have not personally had this happen to me, but I have seen it with fellow employees. The employers take was that being pregnant in a restaurant, you were a hugh risk. Sooooo many things can happen....you can do the same things at home as you do a work and function just fine.

I was never able to stay employed when I was pregnant. I had morning sickness reeeeeal bad.

Take care my friend;)

If your boss let you go because you were pregnant you can take a case against him as it infringes on your employee rights.
I presume you arent going to go to court but he still hadnt the right to fire you for being pregnant.

To answer your question, yes i have had someone say "its not personal.....", The best thing to do is to forget it.

Your boss can always hire someone to help and assist you.

You just help to provide the training.

I believe what your boss did was illegal. If I were you, I would take him to court and say, this isn't personal, it's business.
My wife is pregnant and if somebody did that to her, I would be paying him a visit, so to be speak.

I say what goes around, comes around. It will happen to their wives, sisters and other close females in their life, that is just distasteful.
