I have been working online or from home for about 7 years now and there are a few signs that seem to always come up when dealing with scams. If you are new take heed:
1. Don't pay to get a job. If someone is hiring they will pay you not the other way around.
2. Don't cash any check and then send money back to the sender for any reason. This one is pretty old but I still see it floating around.
3. Watch for the email addresses. Dellcomputers@gmail.com is not really Dell computers. If someone from Dell is hiring it will be more like Jobs@dell.com as and example.
4. Google or check the forum of any job that you apply for. If it is a scam you will probably be able to find it just by doing a search for the job title and then adding the word scam at the end.
5. Look for established companies. If the company is only a year old and you have never heard of it then dig deeper than if it is a ten year old company that you have heard of before. Scams never last long.
6. Make sure the Employer acts like an Employer. If they are a real company then they will want an interview as well as tax info so they can pay you. If someone says they don't even need an interview then there is probably something fishy going on.
I hope these help! If anyone else has some good advice feel free to add it just no ads please.
