I'm thinking of setting up a blog and publishing newsletters.

I would want to publish my newsletter archives to my blog. Do you guys think this is a feasible idea?

Also, what blogging software would you recommend?

Which is a reliable software to use?

Thanks for any help

If you want a free and reliable one, you can try www.blogspot.com.

Most webhosting packages have blog scripts built in at no additional charge to use, if you want a really professional looking blog.

Try Blogger.com also. they have very simple instructions and good software. They also have some great looking templates.
They are very easy to use.

The URL or address of your blog should contain a good keyword. People will be more likely to find your site if the URL has the keyword in it that they searched for.

The first post should be keyword dense. This will help search engines list the site accurately.

A blog is a great idea! I am planning on starting a new blog in the next couple of weeks to help my business continue to grow.

Blessings!

If you're going to use a free blogging platform like Blogger, also get a domain name of your own.

The main problem with Blogger is that your URL will be something like user.blogspot.com. Part of running a blog is building links to the blog to improve your search engine results positioning (more details on this in my blog).

If you someday decide to switch from Blogger to paid hosting, you do not want to lose all those links by changing your URL. So buy a domain name, and redirect it to point to your Blogger blog. Then build your links to your domain name. If you switch to paid hosting later, all those links will still be good.

I don't know if blogger does this, but Wordpress.org allows you to have your blog on your domain on your own server instead of having to redirect. This is better even for the search engines to find the blog, as there are many plugins you can install that will make your blog search engine friendly.

We just started a new blog with Wordpress yesterday at www.coastalvacationscoaching.com. There you can get an idea of how Wordpress blogs work.

I'm a big fan of Wordpress and paid hosting, but Blogger is pretty attractive to someone just starting out.

I do have a series of posts on my blog about getting Wordpress setup on JustFree.com, a free web host, that might be a nice compromise.

Having a blog will help you to boost your traffic

Blogger
- Good for starters
- Not much installation is required
- Free

Wordpress
- Free
- Hosted on your domain
- Require some installation

Just some basic comparison:)
